Heidelberg Wood Flooring is a family-owned American company that specializes in premier prefinished and unfinished wood flooring. Thirty years experience in custom wood flooring products has lead to the most unique collections of flooring that combine the best of our capabilities into a simple, yet exquisite line of products now at your fingertips. The Heidelberg brand name is derived from a city in Germany situated in the Southwest of the country. The city of Heidelberg lies on the River Neckar in a Steep valley in the Odenwald mountain range. It is cherished for its romantic and picturesque cityscape character including the Heidelberg castle and the baroque style Old Town. The beauty and longevity of such a place well represents the values of our company and craft. No other wood flooring company is more diversified in capabilities than Heidelberg Wood Flooring.

Heidelberg Wood Flooring specializes in wide plank hardwood flooring in both solid plank floors and engineered plank floors. We offer an impressive variety of prefinished and unfinished wide plank floors and our custom finishing capabilities allow us to create wood floors in rustic, traditional, contemporary, and modern styles for any residential or commercial installation. We specialize in wide plank walnut, rift and quartered oak, plain sawn oak, reclaimed and antique wood floors and have also expanded to live sawn, European cut wide plank oak and our dark fumed oak.
Brief History
As all great things have a humble beginning, so does Heidelberg Wood Flooring. Wood craftsmanship runs in our family as Artisans of clocks, cabinets, furniture and flooring. Over the past few decades, our small family business has grown to an international company.
Maintaining the age-old techniques we combined that with state-of-the-art technology, we expanded the family business in 2000 under the brand name Chateau Old World Flooring, where we specialized in hand sculpted and custom made prefinished wood floors. After the fire in 2005, we included an engineered plank production division in the rebuild under the brand Heidelberg Wood Flooring. In recent years, we decided to combine all of our capabilities under one umbrella which is now Heidelberg Wood Flooring, Inc. which offers an impressive variety of unique wood flooring products and capabilities.
Our Facilities
Lumber Processing and Milling
Take a few minutes and check out our video of our primary facility where we process lumber and unfinished flooring and wall panel products which is located in Tell City, IN. This facility is over 67,000 SF in size and stocks over 1.5 million board feet of lumber and approx 250,000 SF of flooring blanks at any given time. Over half of that stock is American Black Walnut. This is also the facility where our Artisans hand distress the unfinished flooring.
Engineered Floor Production
Producing engineered flooring requires a production environment that is slightly different that that of lumber and unfinished hardwood processing. At this facility we slice the lumber into veneers which are the same thickness as the wear layer of our solid flooring (Click here to learn about our Engineered Flooring)
Pre-finishing Facility
Pre-finishing of hardwood flooring requires a relatively sterile environment and thus a separate building. This is the final step of our exquisite pre-finished flooring and from here the material is colored, finished, boxed and shipped to you.
